History of St. Joseph Part 1

Episode Summary

Today I'm staying home in St. Joseph, Missouri. Going to the Remington Center, a wonderful museum on the Missouri River, combining natural resources and history unique to the area. St. Joseph played a major role in the development of the West. Several trails and hundreds of thousands of travelers set off from St. Joseph to all parts West. If your family has lineage in the western part of the United States, chances are you can trace your ancestry to that person or family that set off from this area. They would've risked it all and provided you with the base you and your family enjoy today. This city is where you could get on a train in New York, ride to St. Joseph, sign on for a wagon train, and head off for a new life. Join us in Part #1: The History of St Joseph Missouri, where the South came North and the East headed West. Enjoy! We are keeping history alive so you can pass it on!
